Does heated seat know outside temp?

Is the heated leather seat hooked up to an outside temperature sensor, and warm up the seat to a maximum temperature accordingly?
I usually use the feature in minus 20 degree Canadian weather. After ten minutes or so in the high position, the seat is hot enough to melt your butt and everything around it and needs to be turned down or off to be comfortable!!
;-)

Just tried it on a slightly cool night in Florida to warm up a pulled back muscle. Seat barely got hot in the max position!

Wondering if it is busted, or just "knows" the outdoor temp and automatically decided to shut itself off??

I dont know if it is somehow hooked up to a temp sensor...kinda doubt it. I noticed the same thing in my moms edge.

i bet alot of how hot the seat feels is due to out side temp because if its -20 anything gonna feel on your butt

But if its say 60 to 70 out it might not feel as warm due to your not as cold

i know in the new truck the right side does feel hotter than the left but i think its all in my head
