You find a hot source positive, run it to your switch, and then you run another wire from your switch to the purple/yellow wire and splice into it. You do not cut the purple /yellow wire, you just splice into it. That way the computer will control the tc should you not flip the switch. When you do flip the switch, what you are doing is making the wire hot before the computer, and leaving it hot longer in order use the tc to help slow down. The tc disengages at 35mph on my trucks. This way you can use it down to probably 10 to 5mph.
OH and whats the point of an automatic if you have to do stuff manually Sorry had to through that in. I understand the point but I know i would forget all the time and screw the tranny up.
There are some tranny controlers out there that can be used to reprogram the shifts and TC lock up. Forget who makes them though
My understanding is that the tc locks when grounded---so one wire to line side ofthe switch and the load side goes to ground. When switch is off no ground to tranny=no lock----when switch is on tc solenoid is grounded so it locks
