Dodge/Cummins- CW Mcall, Wolf Creek Pass is great too.
I don't get into the "how to make power and mileage" threads anymore. There's a lot of mis-information, dis-information, finger pointing ect. so I just don't touch those threads anymore. These things are old tech, there's only so much you can do to make power and keep reliable. If trying for more than that, you just have too much time and money on your hands. The basic design of the 6.9-7.3 top end (heads, intake) limits what you can do.
You got it.
I think his song about trading a hide-a-bed and thirty-five bucks for a '57 Chevy 1/2 ton pick-up truck is my favorite.
Or maybe it just fits me better?
O.k. guys i have a good one for you. Yesterday I was clling all over the place looking for a trans for my truck. I found a place on e-bay in Florida so I called them. Told them I was looking for C6 for an 86 f250 4x4 with 6.9. The guy told me I must mean a 7.3 and I told him that 83- 86 was the 6.9 and he got mad at me. He says that he has been in the trans business for 19 years and has never heard of a 6.9 diesel and that I was wrong. To make this short I told him he was not worth a d**m as a trans guy If he didn't know Ford used the 6.9 first and hung up the phone.

Since this thread is what it is...I've decided to convert my 460 truck. Yep, I'm going to put a turbine from an Apache Helicopter in it, with quad compound turbos and 2 whipple chargers. Going to use the transmission from an Abrams tank and the rears from a HEMMT. I should have it all together in my upcoming mysterious 4 day absence, after my aunt buys me all the parts. I know, this is the IDI forum, but that's just it. I'm going to use a 6.9 mounted in the bed to start the turbine. The fuel tank, however, is top secret.
ive been thinking about putting a 12 hp briggs in mine, the one off my racing lawn mower, its top secret stroker death wepon, actually no bs it is a stroker 12 hp briggs and it did pull me down our little circle track at about 35 mph in the county fair, want to see the race look on you tube under thunder on the mountain lawn mower race,
