IIRC, the fuel pump is disabled. The vehicle may start and run a few seconds, then runs out of fuel.

I had a firebird one time that the chip went bad. It wouldnt do anything trying to start it with the key. I turned the key fwd. and jumped the starter. I could get it to start this way, but it would only run for like 2 sec or so.
