Can anyone tell me what size socket I will need to get the nuts that hold the converter to the flywheel. It is a 6.9 w/c6 out of an 86 F250. I plan to pull the trans this weekend and rebuild it myself. Least I am gonna give it a try lol.
In my 94 they where 13mm. Get new converter nuts when you put it back. They are use once only. I found that out the hard way. A C-6 should be easy rebulid.
Thanks, I hope it is have never tried it before but hey never know till you try. Besides, it is way cheaper than even a used trans. Best part is I will know what shape this one is in afterward.
Just wonderin how much is the rebuild kit, I've got a C6 in my 88, and I'm leary of the tranny due to just the fact that its an automatic, so I am real curious to the overall cost of the rebuild and its difficulty.
I found one on e-bay for $89.50+9.50 for shipping. It is from seller acerl. It is a buy it now. Sorry but I don't understand the whole link thing or I would lol. I hope to get the trans out this weekend and get started on the rebuild and I will post on the difficulty and hopefully the success!
