WHY does it take 6-8 weeks to deliver an ordered F-150 (or any other vehicle) today? It takes 2 days (if that) to actually produce the unit. If I order a truck the order should be immediately listed and filled at its respective plant IMHO. This is the way Cadillac is now handling CTS orders. An ordered truck should also have precedence over all other orders. Why? It's called satisfying the customer. Dealers can WAIT to fill their inventories, customers shouldn't have to. I mean this is simple stuff here.
It is crazy that it takes that long. The last new car i ordered in the UK took 6 days from build date till it arrived. took 7 days in total for me to get a new car the exact way i wanted it. Crazy that my truck took over 3 months from the date it was built. Someone aint doing their job somewhere.
Agree with both of you. I ordered my '05 SD in September of '04 and it came in December 23, '04. I agree that a customer order should be put at the front of the line no questions asked.
Bsimmer, I thought I had read in one of your previous posts that you had cancelled your order. Did you cancel it or did you decide to wait for your truck to come in? Either way, it's a great looking truck.

Well the truck i ordered had still not turned up and i was told it ended up in Cali by accident and as being shipped back to VA but after 10+ dates they gave me and let me down i got the dealer to find me a truck out of state. Almost exactly the same spec. Done all the paper work for it and the truck was mine but then the dealership who said they would sell the truck to my dealer said that they didnt want to let it go now. Well all i can say was i was pissed. I changed dealers and got them to order me and brandnew truck all over again. That night my old dealer called me and said that the truck i purchased was now going to be sent as the other dealer no longer wanted it. 6 Months after i ordered the truck i got one that was from another dealer. Wont be going back to them again in a hurry. Not even gonna go on about how they tryed to ripp us of with the APR lol

Man, that's crazy! Well, I'm glad you got A truck and a great looking one at that. It's a real PITA to try to shop for a vehicle anymore for a lot of folks. One of my best friends owns our dealership here in town and I've never had any kind of hassle trying to buy there. Only problem I ever had was waiting so long for my truck to come in but that was out of his hands. Stories like yours make me glad I can deal with these guys. Good luck with your truck!

Yeah im glad i have it at last. The funny thing is the guy who was the head person at the dealership moved from the ford one to the GM one lol. He must have had enough of it as well. I thought getting a truck over here would be smooth sailing. But it could just be my idiot dealer lol
Bsimmer, if im not mistaken you dealt with Berglund here in Roanoke, I saw your ordered truck sitting on their lot right after you picked up the other one. One of the sales guys told me about your story when I stopped to look at the truck.
