Oil In Engine Valley

I looked in the engine valley today and there was a small puddle to the rear of the engine. What could be the source of this puddle?

Turbo O-rings i would say Dave, i had a puddle there too and it was my o-rings. Clean it up in there and have a look after a short drive to make sure.

Well, I was going to putting in the WW soon anyway. Guess this will move it up.

Sounds like a plan. Can't help you much on the pulling of the turbo, did my WW with the turbo on and the o-rings were under warranty when they leaked but it seems like a straight foward operation, good luck to yaa.

On mine it's the cac tubes. Big orange tubes with screw clamps on them. I re-tighten mine every oil change and it works. Need a socket I think 7mm and a 6 inch or longer extension to get on the camp screws. Climb on top and look down into the rear of the tubes. Tighten the clamps and suck out the oil from the valley and see if it returns. If the clamps don't have any slack then i guess it's something more. serious

Guess I go to Guzzle's O-Ring site and get them, looks like $8 for his set. Anything else you recommend while I'm there and spending money?

I would order a turbo reintstall kit and HPOP O-rings while your at it. The turbo reinstall kit is pretty nice. Since you already have a fumoto valve.

If it's just a small puddle, there's also a chance it's a leaking actuator rod on the EBPV. Those have been known to drip a little oil in the winter time.

Mine leaks a little here. So I just unplugged the wire and now no leaks. It is on my list to fix, but here in El Paso the EBPV is not that big a deal because it dosen't get very cold here.

Had the same problem, it was the EBPV, the problem is mine is a manual transmission, the oil puddle was able to run down thru the drain hole in the intake manifold directly onto the clutch disk, caused my clutch to slip, so if you have a manual trans. take care of it!!!!

You can have the turbo off in about 2-3 hours. Not to bad....

I may have one of the guys at work here look it over, he used to be a Ford mechanic and has his own business on the side. My schedule looks too full to get a chance to look at it myself.

BTW: Go Steelers
