Fuel leak on top of engine

So I have a fuel leak on top of my engine. It's puddling in the valley and running down the back of my motor and dripping on the ground pretty good. Any idea of the first places I should check? Filter cap is tight. Thanks for any input!

Hoses under the fuel bowl get hard and crack from the heat, if the leak is towards the middle of the engine. If the leak is towards the rear of the engine, check the banjo bolt on the fuel pump, and the weep hole under the fuel pump.

Check the drain valve, and the fuel sensor at the bottom of the fuel filter housing those two are the most common spots for it to leak.

Use a mirror and a light. You'll find it. Canisters are bad about starting to leak on the bottom. A buddy has changed two on his. Youll have to use a mirror to see it.

Thanks guys! I found one hose clamp that was a loose so I tightened that up. It was a the lowest fuel line right in the middle of the valley. Maybe I'll get lucky and that will be it. 😅 But not sure that was it. I'll grab a mirror tomorrow and give her a look.

Thanks for all the good info but even after I took the bowl out and looked for cracks and replaced all the O rings and deleted the big sensor on the back and replaced all hoses i still have fuel on top of the motor. Looked with a mirror and can't see any leaks from anywhere. What the heck? Looked all over the motor and I got nothing jumping out at me that could be where it's coming from. Any more thoughts?

Might be your fuel pump itself, clean up the valley with brake cleaner and put baby powder to see where exactly the oil is coming from.

Is your truck a federal truck or Cali emissions?

My fuel pump was leaking from the weep hole on the bottom passenger side. You could watch it drip with a mirror.

It's a federal truck. Replaced all prints on fuel bowl and checked for cracks. Replaced both banjo bolt gaskets. Cleaned up the valley and after a while of driving I had so more puddling, but it's not dripping on the ground or making my truck stink like fuel inside the cab anymore. Got a mirror out and can't find any drips. Ran hard for a minute then parked and looked again and still can't see a drip with a mirror. But I'll look again tomorrow after driving home from work. It's weird that the leak lessoned after replacing the banjo gaskets but didn't stop....could it be leaking from under the pump? Like the oring has craped out?

Just from my experience, I would check those soft lines which thread into the FPR assembly (near HPOP) Mine were brittle and cracking. I would focus around your fuel pump and hard lines too.

I didnt realize how badly my truck was leaking until I tore everything out and realized my hoses, fuelpump and viton sleeves on the fuel hard line were all leaking!

Well I finally got around to replacing my fuel pump with the one from adrenaline and now more fuel on top of my motor! Easy fix, only took 3 hours and scraped up knuckles but it's all good now. Thanks to all for the input!!!!

I took it to a guy to find the leak cause I was tired of detaching and he said the pump was cracked, and to just replace it myself so I did. Never heard that before.
