Different trucks - different motors. I would NOT put a diesel in the Tacoma or any other desert truck for that matter. For those in the know - yes, the new VW trophy trucks are nice (diesel powered), but not my cup o tea.

That diesel is actually going in my 74 crew...

Sorry for the

This bumper was on the truck when I got it. Pretty much bullet proof....if you were the type to back into stuff from time to time.

The picture doesn't seem to be working, but if you go to my gallery for Rumblefish and look at the rear view pic....there it is.

I know this topic got pushed back awhile ago, and its this is for posting pics of bumpers, but I have a homemade bumper question as I want to build one soon. How heavy is too heavy for front bumper for a 76 F-250 4x2 with the orginal springs but new shocks? I was thinking maybe 200-250lbs, is that a good estimate or bad?

I say to determine wether you feel 200-250lbs is too much weight for your front bumper, is to have a friend who weighs in in that ballpark hang off the front of your truck. I am currently building a front bumper that will be falling in that ballpark or better for the front of my 4x4 f150. You will get a whole lot of bumper for that kind of weight, and unless you have air ride shocks they will not hold any weight.

This site shows the new style bumpers on our vintage of trucks. Go to figures 48 and 49.

Thanks for the link! I have never seen a plate type bumper like that on our trucks - but it is kind of what I want to make. I just hope what I come up with looks better than that one

I don't know why but that one does NOT do it for me at all....

Ya I wasn't real impressed with it either but it is good to see a company making them for our trucks. It is just to rounded.

Hey thanks for the info guys, as far as that new bumper on that web site, I kinda like it, but it does need some kind of grille guard to go with it, something like a road train bumper, now that would be an awesome bumper then!!
