Hey guys, I stumbled across a web site after visiting Project Responder's web site. (Saw the article in the Tech section...one cool truck ) Anywho...they are getting a CRL rear slider window...I WANT ONE. Anybody ever hear of them? Anybody know of anyone to put one it? Anybody know how much? (They only sell to business wich means I cannot find out.)
Check it out here: http://www.crlaurence.com/ProductPages/frameGen.asp?Product=PS950&ProductID=3119
Now what about the side doors? Did make power door locks, windows? I want to upgrade the interior with mild mod's this year. (Stereo is first!) Any aftermarket power products that I should be looking at? I would also like a outside remote, just cuz I am lazy and it looks real cool!
I have a CRL PowerSlider in my 93. I found my used but I also found them at http://www.aztrucks.com/Product.asp?Product=94 for about $350. As for installation, I did it myself one Saturday. Not real difficult, just a pain. I love it and have had no problems with it. It is great, especially in a extended cab. If you want one installed, about any autoglass shop should do it.
As for adding power windows to the sides, there are some kits at jcwhitney.com.
I also added power locks to my truck for less than $15. I got a cheap kit of ebay. They are pretty easy to install and seem to work well. Keyless entry can be had for around $30 (ebay) and it's real easy to add while your adding the power locks. I put a remote start on mine but I guess that's out of the question for you (79).
Just a note on aftermarket power window's,,,, I purchased a New 99' F-350, but it did'nt have power window's, I told the salesman that I wanted them , so he set's me up with aftermarket ones,,( not what I wanted ) anyway they work ok,,but,,, after shutting the driver's door for a year, the brackets broke and the window jammed half open. So to make a long story shorter, I ended up pulling off the door panel and and beefing up the original brackets,,( this is the " belt type " power window setup ), I just recently had to fix the passenger's door bracket's, after 3 yrs,,Good luck,,,,,,Mark
