Help! Weird sound

When i first start my 2001 F250 SD 4X4, I hear a very high pitched whine from mid- chassis. When I engage the tranny, it goes away after a few seconds. 4X4 wiorks fine. Tranny works fine.

Any thoughts?

How many miles are on the transmission?

What motor? If it's a 7.3, it's possible it's just normal EBPV operation if it's a high pitched whine that sounds kind of like a jet engine spooling up.

It is a 5.4L with a 4R70W tranny. Has 60,000 miles on it and is a 2001.
