[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Nov-01 AT 02:34 AM (EST)]I went with Rhino Liner which cost about $540, shortbed, under the rail and color matched. They removed the tiedowns and access panel of the tailgate incase I ever needed to get in there. It is probably the best investment on my truck.
2000 F-250 SD XLT CC 4x4 Shortbed; MAAP nerf bars, Rally/Lightbar combo, PIAA 1300 driving lights, Lund bugshield, Lund SunVisor, K&N airfilter, Access tonneau cover, Rhino Liner, custom built console, Cobra 29 ST/WX CB with a Wilson 1000 magnet mount antennae, Realistic 500 channel police scanner, Kenwood 10 disk CD changer, Compaq laptop, SVP 100 Watt siren, and 24 Strobe lights.
Upgrades for the near future include: Warn Rio Grande pushbar with a 12,000# winch, tinted windows, 4" lift kit, fender flares, and 35" BF Goodrich T/A KO tires.
I added a Rhino liner to my 2000,crew cab, LB, $380.00 out the door in Albuq New Mexico. One of the best investments I have made. You will not be sorry.
Line-X was $370 for a 6.5' standard bed plus $70 for the rail caps. Worth every penny of it. FWIW I work in the polyurethane industry and Line-X's process is the way to go.
I have a herculiner in my truck and am pretty happy with it. I got it for 80 bucks at KMART. With this stuff, prep and application is everything. I don't throw a lot of crap in my truck, but it does to a good job. I have scratched a part of it off, but that was my fault, it got it pretty pretty bad. I was putting a 12 foot bender in and it slipped when i was pushing it in and the corner scraped the liner, this thing is very heavy so the pressure just scraped it, not a big deal, just patched it up with some more, it bonds to itself so if you do scratch it, it can be fixed easily.
better of to go with a hard plastic bed liner. the spray ins and the roll ons fade and chip. alot of companys waranty them against pealing but not chiping
