I've had Line-X in the last two Rangers that I've owned. Very durable, easy to clean, and the guy that did it (in Plymouth, MA) did a superb masking job. The lines were perfectly straight, there was no overspray anywhere, and he took the plate off the tailgate and sprayed it separately so I could access the internals if I needed to. Cost was about $340 out the door for the 6.5' bed. I was so impressed with this guy's service that I drove 3 hours to have him do my second Ranger. I'll be seeing him again when I get my F250 SD!
Line-X is a very good liner. So is Rhino and so is Speedliner. It has lots to do with whether you want a softer, for lack of a better word..spongier, feel (Rhino) or if you want a more hard feel (Line-X or Speedliner). In any event, the installer is the success of the job. I have seen some good Line-X installs and I have seen some horrible ones (runs and real thick in places and thin in others). Same for Rhino.
One thing about the Line-X or Speedliner application is it is less likely to get gouged by objects put in the bed as opposed to Rhino which is softer to the feel and hence is easier to get snagged and a gouge taken out of the liner.
I had a Rhino in my last truck and loved it. I didn't want to pay their price this time around so I went with an Arma. Its a nice product but isn't "soft" like the Rhino, thus isn't as non-slip as the Rhino which is important to me since I leave my tailgate out. The Rhino was also sprayed on much thicker. If I had to do it over again I'd have paid extra for the Rhino.
I've just had Rhino liner sprayed in my SD bed and I am totally satisfied. It is a little more expensive but remember, "you get what you pay for...". I wanted the thicker style, the rubberized look and I liked the way the Rhino liner didn't have the "sandpaper" aspects of the Line-X liner. I am satisfied with my choice.
I have had the Line-x in my 99sd for a year and like it. I have put two little gouges in it and they were fixed with no problem, didn't even have to show any paper work. The only down side as others have said, is the texture and thickness of line-x, stuff does slide around real easy and it is real thin.
I have a Rhino liner sprayed on an 8' bed SD and have been extremely pleased with it so far. The cost was $375. In looking at various options I dicovered the liner will be no better than the installer. The person who did mine has done over 3,000 jobs the past six years and his work was excellent. So far the Rhino liner has shown no sign of wear despite heavy use. It cleans up very easily and still looks like new.
