The truck will run for the first 2 seconds then starts missing and running like crap. I have tried to unplug each injector and couldnt tell a difference. I have replaced the valve cover gasket w the clips and have around 1200 psi oil pressure and 50lbs of fuel pressure. I can tell they are not firing because the exhaust manifold stays cool while the other gets hot. It doesnt smoke and starts every time but runs real rough. Please help.
aAll 4 injectors are bad on the drivers side. The ohms test was 3.6 on the passenger side on all 4. 2.8 on all but one on the drivers side, it read 2.2. I assume 1 made all 4 on the drivers side go because of the common ground.
Though I will preface this with the fact that this is just conjecture on my part, I don't believe there's enough difference in these readings to make one "good" and the other "bad", even though they are not identical.
I wouldn't rush out to replace some of them, at least not yet...
This could also be an IDM problem, or that common return wire back to it.

I just saw this. He has another thread going up in the super duty section and I had him do the ohm test and look for differences in the bad bank. I'm not as concerned with the difference between the right and left bank as I am with the 2.8 on 3 vs. the 2.2 on 1 of them. Rick (Action4478) was kind enough to point out to me that a drop like this can indicate a bad injector solenoid. That same day I had one of my work trucks go down where it lost one entire bank. The ohm test showed us which injector to unplug and the truck would run on 7 cylinders. 1 new injector later and we were back in business.
I asked him to unplug the injector reading 2.2 in the other thread to see if that made a difference before he ran out and started buying injectors. Hoepfully we hear back.
cyclospot, go ahead and start posting the rest of your info in this thread since this section has more people that can help you than the super duty section that covers many different years and motors.
Alright, I unplugged each of the injectors individually and it didnt seem to make a differance on how it ran. I did unplug the whole bank and it would not start. Like I said it would normally run for a sec or two then start running rough. Weird. The 1200psi was gauged off of the high pressure oil that the injectors use. 1200 on a 3000 psi gauge. I think it dropped back some after it ran for a little while. I replaced the harness ( with the gasket) from the injectors to the first plug. Did not change any. If I get these injectors tomorrow I will start with the low one first and see what gives. I checked for a recalls and ford didn't list any.
How does 1 injector going bad make the other 3 in that bank quit working?

I replaced the 2.2 ohm injector and the truck runs better but still seems like it might have a miss. Im going to drive it some more this week and see if it clears up. The manifold heats up now. Thanks for all the info. and help.
The truck will run a little rough for 30 - 50 miles while you purge the air out of the oil rail. Take it for a good spin and see if it clears up after the air is gone. Let us know how you make out.
Just saw I never awnsered this one. If I remember right it ran good for a week or 2 after that injector then the truck started missing again. I think after that the owner sold it.
