If anyone in the Houston area is looking for a good dealer for service work, I can highly recommend the MacHaik Ford service department.
Thanks for all the replys.
Wow, they rebuilt the unit? Usually a dealer will just swap the part. Glad you got her going again.
With tax, it was $2112.49. They had quoted between $2100. and $2200. before they started, so I was prepared.
Make sure you don't do any visible mods or they might can your warranty. With my trans, for $3900 at the time, I can put any mods I wish. Within 2 yrs, they pay for shipping. Outside that, I pay for shipping. Either way, I can get it fixed for nothing. I plan to keep my truck and abuse it so it is a cheap buy for me.
Thanks for the heads up about the mods. Not planning on doing anything to void warranty. My truck is pretty much stock anyway.
I know of a tech that gets a woody from turning people with mods into Ford. So, if it were me and I wanted to chip it, I would get a core PCM so that when things go wrong, I can switch back to the stock PCM and few people would be wiser.
