Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the info. I was looking on ebay this morning and found several sets of gt40p heads for 300 to 500 bucks. Not bad considering jegs and summit are more than that for 1 LOL. Does a machine shop have to drill out the holes, or is it something I can do?? I know a machinist I could take it to, I am just wondering. Thanks
Take a look at tristate cylinder head, got some gt40p from them awhile ago, got 1.94/1.54 valves, new springs, seats all ready to go.
I am trying to get that answered on another thread here as well. I haven't gotten any replies from someone with direct experience yet though. I can handle some modifying, just as long as the cost doesn't offset a different type of head.
IIRC it's possible to use long tube headers with 90^ spark plug boots to avoid having to get the special headers for the P heads. If you use shorty headers you have to get the real expensive special ones. I'm pretty sure thats right but not 100%.
That is what I am reading on the other sites and Mustang sites. Those guys say that long tube headers aren't a problem. The exhaust from the headers to the muffler has to be modified some I believe, but that is easy.
