Are you sure you need a new one? These trannies are pretty bulletproof, there is a chance it just needs some work done to fix it. Post your issues and we may be able to help (especially Mark K who knows a lot about these trannies).
I had a thread going on this a few days ago - My issue is a cracked case, looks to be exactly where the problems arose that prompted the 05B27 recall. I don't have the snow plow package so Ford in its wisdom didn't apply it to my truck. Dealer has the truck now (200 miles from here) wasn't haven't having any tranny issues other than the leak, took it in expecting a new case and snap ring, but dealer is assessing which way to go. I'd kind of prefer a new tranny since they are going to cough up 33% and I get the feeliong they haven't been inside many of these. Truck has 48K miles on it.
Shouldn't the transmission covered under the 60k powertrain warranty?
05's only had the 3/36 bumper to bumper with no additional powertrain. Ford added the 5/60 powertrain to '06 and up model year trucks purchased after 07/14/06...
