does allison make torqshift?
I know this might be a stupid question but does allison make the torqshift?
reason i ask is my buddy has a 2003 or 2004 f250 diesel and on the side of his transmission it says allison. i cant find anything liek that on my 08 f350 but still both trucks are labeled as torqshift transmissons. Any information to help clear this up would be great.

I was part of the team that brought the TorqShift to market. It went into production in 2003.
Allison had nothing at all to do with the TorqShift. The TorqShift does not even look like an Allison. If you looked at the powerflow you'd see that they don't even resemble each other. We did drive Allison equipped trucks to see how they worked. We then made the TorqShift work better, especially in Tow/Haul.
As for the original poster's friend if that transmission really says Allison on it, and I doubt that it does, someone added that after it left the factory.
