cat back exhaust system

I have a 2000 f150 4x4 with the 5.4 i would like to put a cat back system on it,I was instered in the flow master muffler only or maybe a 3 inch cat back system a local shoop can do that for a good price , I have read that others have a idle problem afterwards mine has no problem. I want a little rumble but not to loud , factory exit is fine and any system that requires removale of spare in my opion is junk i would not drive any where with out my spare tire. I would like in put from others who have changed there exhaust thank you .

Check out my reply to the reply you had to my
5.4 skip at idle. I think you'll be OK, The rear exit exhaust with crome tips works well and the spare does not have to be removed. The flowmasters sound nice, I had a glasspack, which gave a little more rumble, everyone really liked it, It wasn't as loud as you would think. A bit of advice though, save the muffler and tailpipe that comes off of it, just in case, it paid off for me.

cat back exhaust system

I have a cat back from Borla setting in my garage waiting to be put on and I was wondering if anyone has one on a 5.4 and how much louder is it from inside the cab ? I have a 2000 5.4 4x4 OffRoad Lariat SB Supercab. Any info is greatly appreciated. Oh, by the way, DEFINATLEY save your old exhaust, I was given the wrong exhaust, and had to piece my factory together to go get the right one !!!

I just bought a 2000 F150 and installed a Bassani 3" system. It is a little louder inside, but the throaty sound and ***** make it well worth while.
