i have an 89 f150 2x4 with an i-6/c6 combo, my question is when i listen to the exhaust when it is idaling it gets these deep/low sounding pops at different intervals now i was told thta it was because the timing was of what would this be....its not a bakcfire its just like a little pufff pop sound while it idles sollid

If the engine doesn't shake much like it would have a miss,it's probably just the characteristic of your muffler that makes that sound. But you should verify timing anyway 'cause yes it will make a funny sound also from combustion while valves are open/close.A new set of plugs may be in order also (you can't expect much from a part that sells for $1.50 and has to work so,so hard).It might be time to scrub the throttle body again?
