That's what I was afraid of...third time now...at least I'm going to go and buy a set of open closed ratchet wrenches ..that will make it a little easier. Thanks
Well it's done and yes the small wire coming from the fender mounted relay was the culpert. My son got under neath and made sure none of the wires were touching and she works like a champ! Phew. Yes now I can teach classes on how to and how not to...one thing I'll aways remember is hook-up all the wires first, the both her in...man that is a tight place...thanks all for the help and advise, it was my starter all along.
I have a lifetime warranty starter.
Even though several times I have known it was just the solenoid, I always change the complete starter.
Changing just the solenoid would cost me more, and void the lifetime warranty if I went a different route.
Yeah I a heck of a time finding a starter for the right year and for the turbo diesel... then to find a good price, nothing local so I went on line...Geesh the price variation was vast. I bought this one from a shop in Florida for 65.00. I kept the old one, I here I can get the old re-built for 30.00!
