Intake Manifold

Ive been shopping around looking at new intake manifolds and i wanted to get everyones opinion. From what I've read on here, the stock air filter and assembly work just fine. I'm looking at putting the Banks High Ram Intake Manifold on my 05 6-Speed. Those of you with one on your truck let me know what you think.

Thanks
-Eddie

are you talking about a High Ram Intake elbow from the Banks intercooler? I have the banks techi-cooler High Ram elbow set up and love it. My stock intercooler was filled with oil so I upgraded it to the banks which cools a lot more eficiently than the stock one and also pushes denser air which = more power in theory. looks like its made out of quality material and comes with bigger boost toobs aswell. nice set up i think... especially if you tow or have high EGT's from other mods.

Yeah thats what I was talking about. Its a little package deal with just the "High ram" intake elbow and a 3-1/2" boost tube from the intercooler.

The high ram intake elbow looks absolutely awesome in the engine room with the big *** red elbow, but other than that I'm not sure it really does anything.
You keep the factory intercooler, factory charge pipe from turbo, so technically there is no higher air flow. I have the high ram intake elbow and boost tube , and the boost is the exact same as it was with the factory-one - measured at the elbow.
Now if you go and get the aftermarket intercooler too, that's a different story, there you could increase the airflow by cooling the air more efficiently.

I have the Banks technicooler, elbow and boost tubes as well as other mods and they seem to work pretty good altogether. I am not sure what you will see for any increses with just the elbow and bigger tubes.

My vote would be to get the technicooler too, but its pricey.

Don't waste your money on that.
Your better off saving the rest to
make the kit complete. For under 1K
you can get the Banks kit on fleabay.

Just about a year ago I purchased the kit
from this fleabayer. It was listed 1099 or BO.
