I pretty much consider myself to be a FE expert, but I have a friend that has an FE manifold with a ******* part number. Normally the part number for a manifold casting is B,C, or D-number-some kind of letter-"9424"-some kind of letter, but he has one that has the part number C5AE-9425-C---- "9425" is not a regular intake manifold casting nmber.
The carb. intake boss looks like one of the sidewinder medium/ low riser units but the runners are to flat to be one of these units. Can anyone shed some light on this. I've seen the part number and there is no mistakeing the "9425" part number.
I would appreciate any documentation you guys can provide on this manifold.

i too have a 4v manifold on a fe block i'm trying to identify that has part number C5AE 9425 C. if anyone has any information about this manifold, it would be much appreciated.
9425 is a good part number for an intake manifold. I know most are 9424. I have had one myself and have seen many with this number. I don't know exactly the application of this intake, but it's not a rare piece.
Actually, the majority of Fords 4V manifolds would use the 9425 number. A CJ motor would have been C8OE-9425-C. My listings of Ford Performance Parts does not list that number, so I do not think that it is anything special. If it had been a C6AE-9425-C, then you would have had your 427 Sidewinder manifold!! ;-).
I have the C5AE9425C intake on my '70 F250, with an Edelbrock 600. I'm 3rd owner, the Marti report says it had a 390 2v originally. The 2nd owner, a friend, said he was told it was a 428 out of a '69 T-bird, but from what I have found, that's impossible. I can't find any casting #s on the block (service block perhaps, but no ribs), but it does have a date code below the filter adapter - "W1" or "WI" above it, and "9B4" which is 2/4/69. No idea what the W1 or I is. The exhaust manifolds and motor mounts are 390 #s, but the radiator has spacers to bring it close enough for the hoses to reach it. I have to replace the oil pan as the drain plug was stripped (a 2x oversize wouldn't bite), so I'll check the crank # and measure the stroke. At this point I don't care if it's a 390 or a 428, I just want to get it on the road. If you have any suggestions or info that might help me out, please share!
