Look on PSN, Blowby seems to sell the adapters quite often. Oh and congrats on the turbo, you're going to have one laggy-*** pig on stock injectors, lol.
I guess thats better to smoke the ricers out I'll just have to start off in 140 LMAO, well I am getting all my mods ready for the injectors now its time to save up for Ryans Hybrids. Thanks for the hook up Kris.
Mine's laggy with all my tunes except Tony's Extreme tune -- that one I don't even notice it. LOL... I imagine Jody's 140 would light it up equally well.
Hey make sure those are not the early 99 van turbo. The pic shown looks like the small version. It's only good for the early 99. Just clarify, as I almost was sold one...
And it's not bad at all on lag. The other benefits far outweigh any slight lag. I've had mine for 3 years and love it.
if its like the truck turbo.it is later 99..the early 99 has 4 bolts holding the housing on.,,my question is...if the van turbo is non waste gated...then why the holder for it??

I am hyped about getting it now I am one step closer to my injectors just need a RR fuel system and I will be set I might actually get them this year after all.
I plan on just throwing the WW in it from my turbo.
Why? That stock wheel on there is going to flow more than the WW, and with the 1.15 A/R exhaust housing, it won't surge on the stock wheel. I think you're losing performance by going with the WW on a van turbo.

The compressor side of the turbo is the same for the van and truck turbos. Just and assumption here, but it was probably easier from a logistics standpoint and more cost effective for the same compressor cover to be manufactured and supplied on all the turbos, whether it be for a van or a truck, as well as eliminate the possibility of the wrong cover going on. Makes sense to me anyway. IIRC, my van turbo had one as well.
Ron, you would essentially have a van turbo. The wheel on the exhaust side of the van turbo is just slightly larger, but not enough to even notice it. I've done both, had both on my bench, and compared them side by side, as well as on the truck, as this question came up to me several years ago and I had to find out. From the very, very slight difference I could find - which was only in OD with the TC locked and accelerating up a particular hill - the 1.15 housing on the truck turbo started spooling about 1-2 mph sooner...which is how many RPM, I don't know, but not much. In the lower gears, I could not tell a difference. All other aspects between the two were the same...max boost, EGT's, etc.
I've got a couple threads detailing the comparisons.

I did not know that well then I will be able to recoup most of my money then by selling my turbo and the WW. So what advantage does the Ported housing do since it won't be surging like it does on the stock turbo. How will a regular van turbo with no bells and whistles hold up to 230CC or 200 CC Hybrids?
I sure hope it isn't an early 99 lol that would kinda hurt.
I can deal with me having a reason to run the 140 aggressive tune all the time
To help ease your mind Justin, after comparing my pictures with the ones Clay posted, the one pictured looks to be a late 99 or up van turbo. Looks like a good find if the price was right!
