Hi all,
I am just finishing up my gauges, I'm installing the trans temp sender. Where does it go? I thought there was a well for it somewhere?
Thanks,
Jack
Thanks.
Will any fluid pour out of there once I take the plug out?
I had a drop but didn't waste much time swapping the pipe plug for the sensor. I did put the pipe plug in the glove box just in case anything should happen with the sensor either leaking or breaking on the road. I'm just that way.
and this
The location for Tans. Sender on a 7.3L 4R100 Transmission can be found just above the 2nd trans. pan bolt on the driver's side. There is a test port plug here (arrow). Remove it and insert the trans. sender. No need to worry about excessive fluid loss. Only a few drops will come out if the truck is level. Image shown with an 11mm wrench in the plug.
Soak the bolt with your favorite loosening agent before you try to twist on it....
And it is never as easy as the pic shows, don't remember what it is, but I have something blocking straight-on access to the bolt.
Hey guys,
Thanks, I got it. Now I just need to figure out which wire goes where. I guess I didn't mark them well enough. Is there any way to tell without hooking them up which wire does what? I don't want to accidently wire them backwards and blow them up.
Thanks

What brand of gauges do you have? My autometers are marked on the back of the gauge as S for sensor wire, I for ignition (key on hot) and a ground marked with G. The light is a direct wire to the bulb socket.
