2004 ranger its my cousins i believe its a 2004 he had new rotors and brakes put on the front hes driven it about 1500 miles and they are still squeaking is this normal??? he checking theres not anti vibration clips or anything rubbing the rotors...
i'm guessing that he didn't condition the brake pads well enough when he first used the brakes. Have you tried anti squeal brake stuff? Or are the pads a "long lasting heavy duty HIGH METALLIC" which will tend to squeal cold/wet.
yah me too I bouught all four new everything and they dont really squeek but mory chirp only when im pulling a load or cornering hard., only sum of the time when braking forward.
Sometimes new pads have sharp edges which will cause a squeel..You can take the pads off and sand the edges lightly to take away the edge.. Did you use "Disc Brake Quiet" on the back of the pads..I never do a front brake job wthout it..Hopefully whoever installed the brakes used quality parts, and not that cheap stuff that some stores like to pass on to the consumer. Also, make sure the caliper bolts are tight, so it is not vibrating when you step on the pedal, and that the pads are secure in their installation..I hope you don't have a bad caliper, as it will make the pads wear unevenly, and could cause your noise........
Just a thought; I had brakes replaced and while doing so the dust plate on the inner side of the rotor became bent just enough to rub a little on the rotor after replaced. I didn't discover this until I pulled off the wheel and then I saw the problem. A simple push on it to flex it back to original shape fixed the squeel.
yep it was some dirt and dust in the rear hubs and they dont make noise underload and the front i think is rubing on the plate ont the right and the pad squaks when i turn right and break but not when stoping forward or turning left
I used caliper cleaner and it only helps for a week or until it get wet or dirty.
I park next to the curb and in my neirbor hood everyone has sprinklers and my truck gets hit every morning no matter where i park so my right front tire is always getting wet at the hours of 4-6am
