I have a pull-out type switch on my dash with a bezel that says "CARGO". The switch doesn't do anything, but appears to maybe have been wired to a rear light at one time, like maybe a backup light? Does anyone know the right purpose for that switch?
There IS a chance it could look the same...the switch itself though is a C7 p/n though...used on most big trucks for marker lights...
The bezel would most likely reflect the same. In the text the bezel was used on the same gazillion big trucks of most lines...F series pickups though it was a 1 yr only piece...67 F100-350...doesnt say though what, if anything was or would be on the bezel.
This switch is a toggle switch...located near the light switch depending on the truck model used on...Its main use was for the marker light flashers...like when a trucks delivering or such.
And since its a 67 only piece...I would be willing to bet that in 68, it got incorperated into the h/l switch since it plugs into the switch as it is on the big trucks as they have a pigtail in the harness from what I can gather from the pics.
How incorperated into the 68-up switch...turn the **** full left...what pops on...dome light...on my Ranger it also turns the cargo light on as well :-) The bezel is prolly a screw on as best I can tell from the illustration too...either way, that bezel is a 1 yr only piece in F series pickup trucks.

Reason: added info
Wow, thanks for the great research on that! From the wiring that I took out I think for sure the switch was added by a PO to put in a now non-existant back up light. I checked all my catalogs and couldn't find a listing for a cargo bezel in any of them. The bezel is an exact match for the 61-66 though. Same font, text size, everything. The switch currently in the bezel isn't a toggle, though, but a pull-out, single throw switch. I'll probably leave it in there anyway, because it looks original, and definitely looks better than an empty hole in the dash. Of course, if it's a rare item, and somebody with a 67 really wants it, I'm not that attached to it.

Ya...I racked my mind trying to find the pic and where it goes in the big trucks but didnt see it shown in the pickup dash...weird...but the ill. did show it to be a toggle switch...I found a good bit on it in the area where it shows the mirror mounted t/signals and how its installed...on big trucks of course...
