Charging Problem
OK, on my second voltage regulator and still no charge at battery while at high idle. New Motorcraft alternator, new alternator harness, and second voltage regulator. Tested conductors of harness, all have continuity. From regulator plug on harness, the yellow and green wires plug into headlight harness which run back to dash cluster for alt light. The yellow female plug at the regulator is hanging with no capacitor attached. Seeing there is no radio, why would I need it? I also have NO fuses in the fuse block yet. I don't believe the charging circuit would run through it.
So there's my problem. I have a good ground at the alternator and voltage regulator. I strapped the 1st and 3rd position on the regulator plug at high idle and got 17 volts at the battery.
