i have a remote oil filter kit thats just been hanging around in the shed for my toyota . i never put it on the toyota and it will prolly never make it there. i was wondering if i could make it into a coolant filter. i was thinking if i found a coolant filter that would screw on there , it would work. any ideas? part numbers on coolant filters?
i have a *203 stat and new neck in the mail and was planning on flushing the coolant . if i could put a coolant filter in there at the same time with something i already have , all the better.
Looks like the same filter base we sell and it probably has the same threads for the filter on it. Do not use an oil filter for it, not meant for coolant. For coolant filters you can see what we sell here: DieselManor - Cooling System Products
Go to Napa and get a 4071 (SCA) or a 4070 and see if it will fit the base.
It probably wont fit. Every remote oil filter base I've even seen has 3/4-16 threads for a PH8A or equivalent oil filter. Coolant filters use a smaller stud, I can't remember the exact size but NAPA sell the base and two 5/8 hose barbs as part # 4019. I paid something like 15 bucks for mine but that was a long time ago so I'm sure the price has gone up now.

Yeah I used that base too. I just can't remember what thread it has nor did I know what thread the OP had. But like you said it does look like a PH8A size. Problem being for the OP is that if the 4071 filter won't neither will the one he just ordered from Diesel Manor cause they are the same filter that they sell just a different brand.
thanks ya'll. guess i'll have a filter and need something to screw it to. we'll see . just stock piling parts now so i know i 'll have everything when i get ready to do it . i know i saw a real good pic of where to hook the coolant filter up (plugs by the oil filter), cant seem to find it .
