my ex truck i sold it a while ago.. stock manifolds single3 inch flowmaster delta flow dumped after axle.. no cat
Yeah,I do.The best part is the element of surprise when they lose to an old Ford truck, priceless.I built up an old 5.8 for my `90 F-150 and had some problems w/ the MSD distributor and found this site trying to find out what to do.Once I fixed the problem the truck has run phenomenally.Running a good 14.096 @ 98.37 MPH its first time down the track.I`m hopin` with a little more work I can get it in the high 12s
here's a vid of it cammin :-)

and it took a little work with a timing light and some good tuning on the carb to get it to idle at 600-700rpms and not die when in gear, i forget what my timing is set at right now i think 36* total but forget the base timing and my timing light is broken but there is a new one in the mail, i had the dumps open and the carb jetted way up to compensate and ran like 8 or 9 times till my mph stopped going up to get the jets right, and it was like 14.48 or something so it's not that fast, my 60 foot times were terrible like pathetic cause of the stock converter with the big cam and the 3.73s and 33x12.5 tires. i'm pretty sure i'll be in the low 14s when i launch it off the 3500 converter with out nitrous and with nitrous be in the 13s
oh it's a longbed as well, i forget if i had my tailgate on or not but it was funny i didn't pass tech because i had some mud on the side of the truck like under the trim on the side (just a little bit not like i just went to the mud hole or anything) so i had to go clean my truck off first lol
and i just put on line lock today still have to bleed the brakes but maybe it'll hold the truck to launch off the converter so all i have to do is let go of a switch lol kinda like a transbrake but not really, don't think a transbrake would be practical on an offroad truck
it also took me a while to get the vacuum secondary spring right, for some reason i am using a really light spring- i think it might be because the truck is undercarbed but i do want to get half way decent gas mileage out of it i could throw on my 750 race carb from my other car along with the nitrous system and see how that does at the track
i am 20 years old as well be 21 in august... but i build a lot of motors and work on/build/tune a lot of drag cars/mud trucks/street stuff, i basically threw together the motor for this truck with spare parts sitting around, i bought the distributor and the cam/lifters but that was it, i'm still looking for a real cheap set of roller rockers or waiting for someone i know to upgrade so i can get their old roller rockers. hell i even got the stall converter for free when my buddy upgraded from his AOD to a C4
