Prozon, your story sounds highly improbable, but i suppose there is a very small possibility that its true......Didnt you make it clear that you had heard the story from someone, that you had not witnessed it,or at least not in its entirety? Maybe the person who told you this embellished it a little,or the details were lost in translation, but it seems as if certain people here have got it in for you!
IT aint a tech thread, its meant to be warning against stupid engineering, and it seems meant to be humorous,so what the H?
hav24wheel, you would think someone could enjoy a funny story passed from one person to another. Yeah it happened. Don't know exactly how. All I can say is there were wooden lift blocks used. As i've stated before, he took the blocks off again. I havn't got a chance to talk to the owner of the truck. I actually have no flippin' idea what happened to him.
Ryan50hrl, try NOT clicking my threads if it upsets you so much. I've posted two carnage threads. Both u-joint/driveshaft related, and i've had pictures on both. And BOTH times, everybody took it way to far. I suppose your definition of carnage differs from mine. When it leaves a part mangled, yeah i'd consider it carnage. I guess i'll post "RYAN'S VERSION OF CARNAGE" next time I post something up thats really bad.
Dave, thanks for the information on the topic. Its news to me so its kind of nice to know.
TheTinian, just for you, i'll take what pictures of my truck I have and post them up. I'll go make a thread right after I post this.
And to everyone else, the "BS" comment has been thrown out. If you don't have anything to say about it besides that its "BS" or that i'm "GULLIBLE" then why bother posting? Been said, don't worry about it.
prozon, not tryin to start a feud-----but
in your original post you said you "heard" the rear end came out
---have you ever seen this happen?
it usually destroys all the sheet metal while goin out, but in another reply you said the truck looked fine
----and you are gettin pizzed off at all of us, at least have some proof or be able to keep your story straight
---i would suggest havin some proof next time to avoid all the problems
But the structural design of the 4X4 wood block divided by the square root of the breaking strength of the wire ties plus the horizontal travel radius of the axle over pie doesn't equal 5,280 feet multiplied by 15.

I'd rep you on this but unfortunately, I have to spread some around.
I have had some experience with those Zip Ties that the cops sometimes use as handcuffs...and to say the least they are very very strong...you con not break them no matter how hard you try. So if he used those , well he might have been able to make it...if he used two of them he should have never broke.

Thats just cause you were drunk....they're much easier to break sober..
A friend of mine did a traffic stop on a box chevy and it was lifted with 2x4's and rims and they didn't even paint the blocks black to cover it up! So it wouldn't surprise me at all.
