hello My name is joe in need of an accessory safety relay from a 1975 to 1977 ford pickup. only those year trucks it is mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment. It has a big orange wire attached to it. need it from a truck with factory integral equipped air conditioning anyone have one of these 1975 to 1977 only. thanks joe
{edit: on the firewall inside the cab, not in the engine compartment}
Hi Joe :)
I had a couple of those relays go out on me in my '75 with factory A/C
and remounted mine so it'd be easier to get at. :)
The last one has held up extra good tho and was purchased at like Auto
Zone or Checker but was listed as a Lincoln window motor relay instead
of the 70's pickup accessory relay. Not sure what the difference is, may
be none, just been using this last one less? :)

Cool, thanks Bill. :)
I was thinking amperage, but that works better since now we know, while
nosing around a wrecking yard, if "it looks like ours" then it'll prob'ly fit. :)
Also the more I think about it the more I remember...
I bought mine from Napa and it was an Eklin brand like my horn relay.
The horn relay went out under warranty and was replaced (once or twice?)
and decided the heck with that and bought an Eklin brand from Napa and it's
still in there, from '75. :) Driving to Safford from Bowie AZ for a "free" relay
actually cost more, got the Eklin while working in Willcox with the company
truck and got paid by the hour to boot. ;)
With the accessory relay, not sure why the "Lincoln power window relay"
came up but might have had something to do with me complaining about
the relays (or something?). Anyway I was sold. LOL :)
But knowing what all the same relay fits, I'm confident I just have a better
made relay than before, not one for a different application and that simplifies
the situation so others can have the same luck I've had with my last one.
no still never found ac harness yet still searching. just need orange wire with the accesory safety relay and its plug. could also use wire 753 yellow an red that goes to the ac mode switch and wire number 268 red and black this goes to the common side of the accessory safety relay.could also use wire 348 green an white coming from switch position 3 a/c it goes to the a/c evaporator thermostat. phew that should do it. Im greatful you guys are trying to help with this job any yards out buy you guys I know its alot on the plate would gladly pay for this circuit if we could find it out there thanks so much for the help joe from new jersey.
Cool, thanks Bill.

Parts catalogs don't list the amperage.
The ID number is stamped on the cover. I'd go by that, not by what it looks like.
There were, atleast, 7 additional safety relays used on 1960's/80's Ford's.
None of these are correctamundo.
You want D2LY14512A with any of the following ID numbers:
