I have a 76 F-350 SCS....it was my Dad's truck, but he's famous for hacking stuff up. Case in point, the blower motor stopped working so he wired in a switch to turn it off and on. I found the plug he sliced into and it appears that some kind of relay is suppose to be in the socket. Anyone know the name of aforementioned relay?? Has 3 prongs. All I got is a Haynes manual for a schematic and near as i can tell its an accessory safety relay....
Ihave a problem with my 1979 400-m engine starter. it makes a growling noise and acts like it is missing the flywheel. (new flywheel ringgear and starter).
Please re-post your thread with a title so you can get some answers. People wont see it since you posted under my title which has nothing to do with your problem. I don't think you have a relay issue. It sounds like its getting power to the starter. Growling noise.....check battery voltage.
my starter turns the motor over about two to three times then goes ziing. I put five starters on and they all do same thing new flywheel ring gear.can someone tell me the problem?
you should start a new thread with a descriptive title outside of this thread. You will get more help that way.
I have factory a/c in my 77 f250 and when my blower quit it turned out to be a 3prong relay screwed into the underside of the dash at the glove box, Napa had it in stock. not sure if thats any help.

Yes....it helps a little. The plug is behind the glove box. Or at least ...it should be. I think NAPA will be on my list of errands today. Thanks for all your help.
These trucks do not have a relay in the blower motor circuit. They go through the speed switch full on; that's why the switches wear out so fast. The speed switch adds in different taps of the blower motor resistor for all speeds below HI, for HI the switch is bypassed and the only thing in between the blower motor and fused power is the selector switch.
If someone actually did find a relay in their setup, please post a picture. It would be news to me (been wrong before plenty of times).

Well i had to check my title! yup 1977 f250 factory air, LOL
I do have a three prong relay in the blower circuit located under dash, it must be a factory relay seeing NAPA had a part number for it, it was ordered and when i hooked it up blower worked again. It's called an A/C Relay part # ECH AR235. blower does not work without it.
