1956 Cowl Vent

Its been a while since I posted. Sorry, just don't seem to be enough hours in the day recently. I am just getting back to working on my cab now, getting ready to put it back on the chassis.

One thing that I wanted to ask is if anyone knows where I can get hold of a new Cowl Vent. Mine is in pretty poor shape, it has rusted from the inside out and is all swollen up and is twisted as it looks like its been driven over or something in the past.

I have looked online at all of the parts places that I have purchased from in the past, but none of them do anything other than the vent seal. Is it possible to get a new Vent anywhere? I really like the vent and dont really want to get rid of it by filling in the hole unless I really have to. I think it is one of the things that adds real character to these old effies.

So can anyone help?

I will be in the US next week for a few days so if anyone knows somewhere that I could order one and get it to WA I could even bring it back with me.

Thanks All,
Lee

B6C-8102133-B .. Cowl Vent

B6C-8102122-B .. Cowl Vent Handle

Fits all 1956 trucks except Parcel Delivery

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any new ones.

Thanks Bill,

I guess I will have to keep an eye out for a good condition second hand one then, or maybe fill the hole in after all. I will keep an eye out on the bay although most people dont seem to want to post outside the US who sell on ebay for some reason.

Cheers
