The problem with the "P" heads is that the spark plug angle was changed, complicating header or manifold installation.

The GT40's are what is used on the Gen I Lightning. Probably good for about 15 HP over the E7. Just a guess.

Yes, the Lightning tube headers are the same configuration as the stock castiron manifold on the 351. Same as any truck shorty header.
The GT40 head is identical to the E7 head, just better flow numbers.

The Gen1 Lightning, '96-97 Explorer 5.0, and Mustang Cobra. Look for 3 vertical bars on the end of the head and the following casting numbers...

The GT intake may flow a little better than the stock 5.8 truck intake but you'll need a 5.8 GT lower to use it, the 5.0 lower is too narrow. The 5.8 certainly will benefit from better heads, and the GT40's are better than anything that came before.. in stock unported condition.

That's impossible to say because it depends how competent the porter is and exactly what is done to the heads. The old C9 casting has a lot of potential but it doesn't make much sense to spend $1500+ to have somebody professionally port them when you can buy brand new heads that will outflow them for less.
