I am beginning to design a Ford based race car on Solidworks. I figured this might be a good place to find some information.
I need a 3D Cad model (prefer solidworks, but can import most) for a ford 302 engine. If you have something, or know where to find it, I would really appreciate it.
Detailed drawings showing the bolt hole locations for all the brackets, headers, motor mounts etc. would also be extremely useful and would save me a LOT of time (and possible innacuracies) over trying to mic out my engine.
Thank you all for the help,
You can e-mail me info at: chaoscreature@hotmail.com
This kind of information is pretty tough to find from us hobbyists. One of the early Ford Motorsports catalogs I've seen (early 1980s I think) had the dimensions for the bellhousing bolts, and the current ones have cylinder spacing and deck height.
Maybe some of those that are into "blueprinting" can refer to said blueprint specifications and provide information.
This seems like an interesting project, please keep us posted of your progress.
Beanscoot,
Yeah, CAD files are tough to find and the people who have them tend to hoard them.
I found some drawings for the front and rear views of a SBF showing the trans mounting hole locations and the various frontside bracket mounting locations. I want to attach these, but I dont see the "manage attachments" icon anywhere on the "Reply to Thread" page.
Am I doing somethign wrong or do I need administrator approval?
Thanks,
Chaoscreature
I stumbled upon them while searching other forums. I figured I would ask around here since I am a member here and there seem to be a lot of knowledgable people.
As soon as I figure out the images thing I will get what I have posted.
Thanks again,
Check out the new Album in Forums/Albums, SBF Blueprints and Dimensions. As I find more stuff, I will post it there and I hope other people contibute as well.
Thanks,
