Interior Door Handle

The interior door handle on my truck recently broke where the bracket mounts to the sheet metal behind the door panel. I fixed the issue by drilling two holes in the bracket (underneath the spring) and used self tapping screws to re-attach the bracket to the door. Perhaps this is a good way to prevent this problem from even happening. It was harder getting the door panel back on than anything else. Hope this can help someone.

I had the same problem. My handle just ripped off the frame. It is a flimsy piece of work. My dad just welded the handle piece to the frame. Now it is works great!!!

Mine was repaired by welding in a piece of flat bar steel to the flimsy sheet metal and drilling through the flat bar for the clip screw. I've had two 92 trucks and both driver doors ripped like that so I welded all four doors that way.
