Just get a 3in in and out muffler.
If you can weld it you can do it at home.

Like said above get 3 in. muffler and weld it up yourself since you have the stuff to do it. Will save some money.

The other thing that we were looking at was straight piping the truck and expanding it to just a 3 1/2 in, but ive heard that if your truck has an EGR valve that it will burn your turbo out and the EGR valve and when the EGR valve goes bad your engine can run away and blow????

If we dont run a straight pipe then we are going to move the muffler further forward( it is right by the rear axle ) and run a 3 1/2 after the muffler

Luckily for you, IDI's don't have EGR's

Theres quite a few guys down in the IDI forum with straight pipes in both the turbo and the NA versions of these motors with no problems.

If you don't care about the noise, straight pipes are the way to go on these IDI's
