Is there any solutions?
All I can say is - my filter removed a BUNCH of stuff that would have eventually caused erosion of the water pump impellors AND would potentially start restricting the water flow in tight places. It is a very good thing to have the filter (but not perfect).
I believe I've chose Dieselsites kit. Nothing to do with price and to be honest I've only seen 3. DFuser's redneck and one that had a plastic mounting bracket I did'nt even take it seriously enough to catch it's name.
Mark I did'nt post thread links cause really i've only reads one thread on this board that had anything against the coolant filter. You posted in that threadas well{DIY coolant filters}. All my other reading was else where and I did'nt book mark. I read alot of stuff and I cant remember where everything was. Give me alittle time and I'll find it.
Wash1331 I see where your going. I dont agree in the sence that this thread is concerded. Maintance should insure a piece of machinery to live at or past its life span. 100K on a PSD is a very short lifespan. I know of trucks that was very well maintained and had turbo, cooler, and/or bed plate leaking problems. I change my oil between 6k-7k. Just cause Ford said so. Of course when I'm pulling alot I change it between 3500 and 5k. My truck has had alot of trouble. I dont think anybody here would have kept this truck. I'm hard headed and I love my truck. Like I tell my wife I dont need a reason when she ask me why. She is'nt going anywhere. My wife like the new SDs. She really likes the new front ends> She says they drive like her 1/2 ton. She wants to trade my truck off so bad it aint funny. Yep you can buy a 6.0L pretty cheap these days. But guess what that goes both ways. You better get whatcha want cause you are going to lose value just as soon as you drive it off. When I bought my truck the SD had the strongest Book value than anything else on the road. Now look at them. You think a Ford is cheap. Dodge around here is giving one away free when you buy 1 at MSRP.
