On my boy's ranger, when I disconnect the hot air stove vacuum source that is a "T" fitting with the MAP sensor and produce a vacuum leak, it stops being really rich no with idle speed increase.

The manuals I have say I should have a MAF sensor, but there isn't anything there where it should be.
question #1:How do you test the MAP?
question #2: what years had MAP sensors?
BTW make tag says build date of 6/86, model tag on door frame says model year 87, and DMV says it is an 88 because it has a "J" in the VIN
