is there a special paint that i can get to paint the axles, leafs, and frame i see old trucks that are nice and black, and mine is al faded and a bit of rust just wondering how to paint thanks
Undercoating. Should be able to get it in a spray can at your local auto parts store. I put some regular black spray paint on mine and it is holding up well.
I have heard that the undercoating will trap moisture. I don't really know for sure. I usually do mine once a year or two with just flat black spray paint. I found that the undercoat builds up and kinda looked like you over painted it several times. it took away the detail around the hardware and made the hardware difficult to use again. I couldn't get a socket ocer a nut or bolt ect due to the build up
I used POR15 on my last truck...under the dump body, frame, springs, etc.
It has held up tremendously!! Can't say enough good things about it. Follow the directions, I pressure washed the truck, used an electric wire brush on all the loose stuff and pressure washed it again and let dry real good. Never did use the cleaning solution they recommeded but did give it 2 coats as recommended. Stuff is tough as nails...if you get any on your skin remove immediatly or you will be wearing it for a very long time.
Well worth the price and effort..bought it online!
