2.5 inch shackles in the front, and 4" superlift rear blocks. Stock springs all around, no bags. no incline, driveway is flat. That 1/2" that you are referring to Chris is the reason I went with the 4" rear blocks. The standard F350 blocks are 3 5/8" so I went with the full 4" blocks. I wanted to keep a little rake to the truck, so when the camper is hooked it sits level.
Total cost=
Front shackles $50
4" rear blocks $80 (includes new U-bolts)
install time= 4 hrs
Where did you get your rear blocks. Mine looks all stock in the back. Ford stamps on spring pack. There are two blocks, but only measures about 3 1/2 or 3 5/8. The front springs are are arched up `-__-` not down. I am told that stock position is down _-``-_ .I do not have lift shackles like you mentioned.
JT, you are correct I am running on 16" wheels. my tires are 305/70/16,(33x12.5x16) for the non metric speaking crowd.
I got my blocks from 4 wheel parts. You have to call them to order them though, cause they dont list them on the web. You also need to request the correct U-bolts when you call them. (measure your current ubolts and add 1 inch if you currently have the 3.5 inch blocks)
Check your springs to make sure they aren't broken, or may be sagging from enough use. How old is your truck?
I would fix or update the mechanical parts of the suspension first, but then seriously look at airbags since you do a lot of towing. It's one of those "fixes" that you wonder why you didn't do it sooner. I've got just the bags with the lines zip-tied to the bumper for now, and that was around $300. I have an air compressor and tank to add to it, just haven't gotten to it.
I checked my springs at the recomendation of someone else and I cant see any breaks, but thanks for the tip. I probably will do air bags sometime because I also tow my 14k dump trailer from time to time and it would help a bunch.
