So i have replaced my idler pullley and the alternator.
Truck seems to charge fine and keep a charge.
The temps are next to zero here in KC.
I keep getting a popping noise in my big 6637 air filter. Anyone know why?
I still have power loss when accelerating from a stop. When cold the truck will die when I shift into reverse.
Truck seems to drive better when it is warm.
I think I know the problem. The tranny isn't getting cold enough.
I think that when I put in the Tru Cool monster tranny cooler I didn't put in the thermostat inline with it that it came with.
I will put that in and see if all is well.
Any other ideas?
It comes and goes. Wouldn't that be there all the time?
I just spoke to the dealer and they say that it could be a wastegate sticking! I didn't think these trucks had wastegates?
Okay, so I put the thermal bypass valve on in line with the Tru-Cool 4637.
I added a about a half quart of tranny fluid and it doesn't die anymore when I put it in reverse.
Any ideas what would have caused it to die in reverse? Does reverse take the most fluid?
has to do with line pressure, if i recall the tc needs (?) psi to stay disengaged, when you dont have that valve installed and select reverse it uses more fluid pressure then the pump can deleiver to engage reverse and you lose the pressure that is holding the tcc disengaged resulting in a stall
