UPS just dropped off my Tru Cool LPD 4590 transmission cooler, gonna put her in Saturday. Should I remove the factory installed piece of junk, or leave it and install the Tru Cool next to it and hook them up in series??
I deleted the stock cooler and went with the Tru-Cool alone. I was concerned about fluid flow through two coolers. Haven't heard anything negative about either type of install. I haven't seen anything over 140 degrees yet.
I have my TruCool mounted, behind the grille, in a series with the stock coolers. The top 2 ears on the cooler will line up with the 2 upright bars, if you have the late body style. I mounted the top 2 with bolts thru the bars and ziptied the bottom ones. No problems with this installation. May use J-bolts at the bottom if the zipties break. They are there just to keep the cooler from swinging on the top bolts. I got the installation kit (bolts, extra hose, and instructions) with the cooler from dieselsite.
