Power steering bubbling?

I noticed today that my power steering fluid was under the MIN mark today, and I was going to top it up once I finished with what i was doing. I started the engine and I noticed that the fluid inside of the power steering reservoir looked like it was bubbling. After opening the lid and looking inside, I confirmed that the fluid was bubbling. And it wasn't just little bubbles, it was fairly decent sized bubbles coming at a fairly fast rate. Think of a fish aquarium. Now, I know that one possibility is that since the level was low, that might have been the cause of the bubbling, but it was just barely under the minimum mark. Not enough to run bubbles into the system. Has anyone noticed this before? Secondly, what would cause the level of fluid to drop? I haven't noticed any drips in the driveway (and it's really easy to spot on a snow covered driveway), and I don't see any fluid or evidence of fluid anywhere in the engine bay.

If there's no sign of leaking, it probably wasn't full to begin with.

Top it off and forget about it

Can and will do.
I'll be picking up some fluid for it while I am out this morning.
And I'll be giving it a well deserved bath. You let it go for 2 months during a canadians winter, and your black truck will start to look white.

Every F150 will do the same, totally normal and nothing to worry about.

ive seen mine bubbling after 'heavy' usage typically while off roading. Under nomal street driving conditions it doesnt bubble. i suspect heat build up from the heavy use of the power steering pump.

As for a Canadian winter, dont miss them AT ALL!! ;-)
