My PS has developed hard spots when turning and straightening out. Checked the fluid level, was a little low. Topped it off. Still hard steering. Tonight, checked the level with the engine running and the fluid looks like it's boiling in the resevoir. Is this normal?
Air in the system.
Jack up both front wheels off the ground and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock a few times. Do it with the truck running and off... cause I can't remember if I bled a system with it running or not.
Mine also seem like its bubbling, but i think its the rushing back of fluid from the return line, making it appear as if its bubbling, i dont actually have bubbles.
Now if you can actually see bubbles coming back, then yes, if you had the system apart or something like that then you could have air in the system.
