ok i plan on ordering a tugger kit this week where did you guys that have them order them from? which is better a tugger kit or a john woods valve body?
Do not order from Oregon Performance Transmission. They're a bunch of idiots that won't stand behind anything the sell.
That said, the tugger kit modifies the accumulator valve body, main valve body, and the solenoid pack (if necessary). The JW VB is just a modified accumulator valve body. Several of us here have installed the tugger kit and are happy with it. Those with the JW VB are happy with theirs also, but if you're not afraid of doing this yourself, the tugger will save you some money.
You can order the kit from Bill at racerxautomotive.com Have you watched the install video on the transgo website? You'll get more fluid on you than the guy in the video, but other than that, the install is straight forward. The hardest part of the whole thing for me was unplugging the connector on the solenoid pack
no i have not watched the video yet i was goin to but ain't got that far. i have already got covered in fluid i changed it about two weeks ago and the drain plug is messed up so i had to take all the bolts out and then dump the pan lol i took a bath.
Well crud.... You're going to have to drop the pan again. Hope you have a way to save that new fluid! Best time to do it is when you do the fluid & filter change.
I have the kit in as well, and I'm VERY pleased with it. With tuning to match, the truck feels like a totally different beast!!
Yeah, I USED to recommend OPT, but no more. Chris about got screwed on the deal, but thankfully TransGo stepped up and took care of him.
No, and I won't be getting it for the next couple of days either. Sitting at home watching the news about all the ice moving in. I may try to pick it up Friday and install it this weekend when the temps climb back up to the 60's
I just got my Tugger kit from the guy on ebay. $113.00 shipped to my door in 3 days from California ti Illinois. I was most pleased. It came well boxed and still shrink wrapped in its factory package so no parts could fall out.
i will put the kit in where i work. i have a nice big heated shop. i might just go ahead and change the fluid again or i might save it idk yet. i think the chip is a ts performance chip. i will probly buy a new chip.

If you have a TS, DON'T BUY A NEW ONE! Have Tony reburn it. He'll put whatever tunes you want on it for $150. I'm running a TS with Tony's tunes right now, and couldn't be happier.
Pretty much just shipping time. Once you know what tunes you want, let Tony know, and send it to him. Once he gets it, it's a matter of minutes to burn it and send it back.
