Leaky exhaust causing an SES? Not that I've ever heard.

No the engine light should not be tripped by an exhaust leak. Have you had the codes read to see what they are.

No working on the exhaust leaks and sensors and then putting it back in.

something kinda doesnt sound right. you have the ability and ambition to take the engine out, and be able to run it out of the truck, but you dont have a code reader or know where to buy one.
what gives?

He's on Dyess AFB, TX. FULL auto-shop with pretty much any tool, and guys that work there that usually know everything. Well, any tool but Ford diesel code readers, obviously. When I was on Tyndall back in '07, I LOVED going to the auto shop. I also frequented the one on base when I was overseas.

that sounds freakin awesome. research a code reader or maybe someone will pipe in. then your set. its probably just a unhooked sensor or something. let us know how it goes. without a code your just left to recheck all the sensors etc.
id put it back in and see what it doe s then.

For one yes there is a shop on base but my truck will not fit in the shop and they charge to much for my little E-4 pay, so im doing it all at home, and no i dont have a way of running it out of the truck. Its my baby thats where the ambition comes from!!!!
