When did the code light come on? I think you're kind of screwed at this point since hooking up a code reader with the engine next door will give you more than a few codes. Every single sensor you unplugged will set a code if you try and turn the key on now.
If you want to give us a list of symptoms (other than the oil leak) we might be able to throw some guesses out there, but more than likely you'll have to stic the engine back in, hook everything back up, then see if the CEL comes back on.
