Header Wrap
Header Wrap
I want to cut down some of the heat related damage to my new starter caused by my headers, and just generally reduce engine compartment heat.I am Thinking of wrapping them with thermo-Tec. Will this cause harm to my headers due to their inability to shed this heat. Header manufacturer unknown. The starter is wrapped also.
Man, the passenger side header / starter is a bear to work on. I only want to do this once.

Header Wrap
oh yeah, starters and headers arent fun
. they make heat sheilds for starters. that should be enough to protect your starter. however, if you do want to use the header wrap, i think it will be ok as long as you dont have a restrictive system that will build up exsessve heat.
